The European Museum Forum (EMF) greatly values your privacy and retains only such personal data as is needed to provide our service to you; for example, if you want to receive our newsletter, apply for the European Museum of the Year Award (EMYA), submit your story on our website, or attend our annual Conference. The data we hold may include your first name and family name, as well as your address, telephone number and email address.
The EMF processes your personal data only for the purposes for which you provide it.
HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?
The EMF stores your personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes for which the data was collected, in accordance with the legally established retention periods. Application forms contain contact details for the museums that have applied. These forms will be archived and used for research purposes only.
SHARING
Your personal information will not be shared with any third party, except where they are providing a service (such as a secure payment or organising a conference) that is necessary to provide our service to you. In these circumstances, we enter into a processing agreement to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality of your data.
PARTNERS
If you financially support the EMF as a partner/friend we record your name, address and possibly email address. That data is used to send you requests to continue our relationship with you, and to inform you of news and upcoming events.
PERSONAL DATA OF THE GOVERNANCE BODY
We retain essential personal information on our staff, members of our Board of Trustees, the Judging Panel and National Correspondents. This information may include name, address, telephone number, email address and IBAN number. This data is needed for purposes of internal communication and information and governance. We also process data for payments or because we are required by law to register the number of an ID card or passport.
